battlefield

There's a battlefield in her mind. 

Stars tangled up in her hair.

Sun warmer in her eyes than on a summers day. 

She's beautiful.

But.

There's a battlefield in her mind.

Her skin is soft.

Her smile is happy.

Her body is flawless.

But.

There's a battlefield in her mind.

Stars burn.

Sun dies at night time.

Beauty can be ugly.

There's a battlefield in her mind.

Her skin has blemishes.

Her smile becomes a frown.

Her body looks different in her eyes.

There's a battlefield in her mind.

She's fed up with the explosions keeping her awake.

She's fed up with being perceived as perfect

She's fed up with fighting within herself.

There's a battlefield in her mind.

Sick of crying.

Sick of hurting.

Sick of being broken.   

There's a battlefield in her mind.

But. 

No one knows.

No one sees.

No one hears.

The battlefield in her mind.
