Be Brave in the Attempt

The starting pistol echoes in the air

The Athletes start running down the track with flair

Determination, commitment and perseverance on their faces

Let me win… but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt as their mind races

The Spectators, Coaches, Families Volunteers Cheer

GO! GO! GO!  SHOW NO FEAR!

The Athlete push harder

As they race even farther

To get to the end

That is just around the bend

To go past the finish line with smiles on their faces

With great pride and achievement, as they accomplish their races

The hugs, high fives, and cheers are echoing

Can be felt by the Athletes, and no fear on their faces 

As the Athlete stands proudly, awards are presented

With huge smiles are a blazing and their hearts have ascended

Photos taken, hands up high,

“I did it” can be heard into the sky

Abilities, Unity, Inclusion, are just three words of many

That describes the heart of a movement shared by so many

Never give up!  Follow your Dreams!  You inspire me!
