Beast

Why is it that We do this?
We put fourth such manner-
Such manner in which We haven't the grasp over
The grasp necessary to sustain
The grasp necessary to live
It haunted me-
Why?-
Because of the cowardliness we were so graciously given
And from whom did We receive it?
From It, of course-
The one-and-only Fear
And when did Fear come into play?
Well, that I do not know-
The Master of It All, perhaps-
Who has given me regret and sorrow-
But also love
Back and forth We would scurry
Back and forth We would destroy
And yet, back and forth We would feed each other
For what I was about to do would be horrid- yet relieving
It would extricate me- yet leave me extinguished
So, prepared I am, and prepared I am not,
I stand tall and frightened
And then it happened-
I had done it once again
For I had succumbed to The Beast
