Beasts

Beasts

They lurkΒ in the dark.
They watch you while you're sleeping.
They hear your conversations.
They smell yourΒ fear.
They taste your blood,Β
pouring out of the gash in your flesh.
You slowly fall to the ground.
Suddenly, you wake up.
You look all over your body for any cuts,
but none are there.
You look around your room for even a slight hint of any beasts,
but none are there.
But there is one place you didn't look.
The ceiling.
Your eyelids slowly part.
You hope it's not there.
You get ready to run,
but it's too late.
Your eyes finally open,
and you stare into the beast's monstrousΒ eyes,
waiting to die.

Wow!! ~ This is 'Way Cool'!!....and has the added bonus of having great poetic tension.......the way you added the 'last place to look' at the end was cleverly placed and resurrected at the perfect moment in the scheme!!.......ALL STARS!!......well crafted and creatively presented!!.....LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo ?✴?
