Beautiful Thoughts

Beautiful Thoughts

I was gone - I wished I was back again,
I missed the air, instead of looking at many moons,
sometimes they let me go for a brief holiday,
I couldn't speak, only watch your apparition from afar.

Remembered the things that we used to do together,
but watched over you, sometimes guided in direction,
you looked in my way as though someone was there,
there was, I opened my lips to speak but only air.

They said that you would be with me one day,
how I wished that would be soon, instead just a moon
in the sky which noted my sadness and passed me by,
then another and another, with your face in the sky.

They wanted to know what it was like up here,
it was good but only when you were no longer down there.

The title fits the poetry Terry, so touching.
I really like how you related to this lost love by referencing the moon.

The last two lines were my favorite part of the poem:

They wanted to know what it was like up here,
it was good but only when you were no longer down there.
