Under the quilt of yesterday 
the Autumn Equinox emerges
and under the roof of your kind home
a bottle of wine
is chilled for the ambient man.
Sad affairs of day
and sad and lonely nights abrade
as leaves begin their descent.
Windows left open
fill the silent night with a wind
whose cologne 
unsettles your heart
for when has love 
made its nest within your Soul?
Beneath 
the warmth of the blankets
your body shakes
in its desperate awakenings
as your unguided mouth
whispers the name 
of the suitor who will quake
the foundation of your brick house.  

Upon the quilt you will sew
the burnished leaves
and show face for the tears
whose legacy
is now born in your Faith.
Mirroring your heart
these lonely nights will dissipate
and the grievance
of the waiting years will pass.
Not one hour or one moment
will be sacrificed
for as your bosom heaves
the Spirit of love shall be nurtured.
