Because You Told Me

I can't believe how blind I've been. How could I blindly not see what's always been in front of me?
I can't believe I let myself get out of control so bad that you felt the only option you had was to tell me to leave
I can't believe I hurt you so bad that I felt I had no other choice but to go, Hurting you was the biggest regret in my life, now that's something I can say whole heartedly
Because you're the one who's ever been there for me, you're the only one who said forever and meant it when you said it to me
I trust you with every ounce my mind, body, and soul, 
It's going on 5 years baby and I still feel my heartbeat sometimes losing control
I prayed to someone in the skies above me, for someone like you, I don't know who is honestly really up there but someone came through and answered me
I was about to give up on love and everything until the day I met you
My life changed forever almost instantly, and it changed for the better and that's all thanks to you
We conceived, but failed, and for that I'm so sorry, 
But it's because of that we created a  bond becoming inseparable, 
we became the world's "couple goals" but to the point of being unhealthy, 
We started driving each other literally crazy, we started living almost dangerously
Every couple has a rough patch or a short period of time with separation
But baby leaving the same town you're in was completely irresponsible and I'm trying my hardest to get back to you 
I'm not me when I'm not next to you, I need your touch, I need that feeling of security
I refuse to live my life if you're not able to be a part of it, so I'm using that as my motivation 
to get back to my husband, baby I need you, your support and your dedication
I was a fool whenever I said I never needed you, 
I never would have forgiven myself if I ever actually lost you, I don't know what I'd do if that ever did come true
Oh baby, I promise you I was wrong! This was supposed to be just a simple short poem, 
But I guess now it's turning into a 5 minute love song
I hope you don't mind it though, because honestly, I feel you have the right to know, 
how you make me really feel baby, and I want you to know just how much I love you, boo
I wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't have you by my side, riding hard, every day, through and through
I wouldn't be as strong and as independent if I didn't have you in my corner, or riding shotgun
I have no legs but that was still, a pretty decent little fun pun!
Speaking of having no legs, oh baby you don't even know, or have the slightest clue
how much of that journey you actually helped me get through, 
If I didn't have your love, I don't honestly know what I would have done, or to this day, do
That's why I chose you, that's why I asked you to marry me, untraditionally
Because it's a love like ours baby that's been through hell and back
There ain't no one else for me, and there ain't no else for you, and I believe that with every ounce of me, because my heart told me to
I don't have legs and you still make me feel beautiful, and still.. So pretty
I know sometimes I act unlady like, and sometimes even petty
But this is what I mean when you bring out not only the worst, but the best of me 
I love you so much and if I could, I would give you everything, because you are a real man, and I am lucky to have you as mine
I know you'll never leave me, I know you'll never stop loving me, I know you're always going to be there no matter what I go through, or you go through, we'll figure ourselves out together
I know it's forever because you proved it when you said it. 
You still do your part to make me feel loved, appreciated, and cherished
I'm ready to give you my all, with no more hesitation
You are my final destination, I'm ready to let you in completely, here's my open invitation
I'm ready to give you my everything, my good, my bad, my inbetween, shit, I'll give you my hell, please in return give me your hell too, I promise you, I got you, we can and will help each other out of our demon filled wells
We both finally found what we needed, not just what we wanted because sometimes what we want isn't what we need, but baby, I need to tell you, I'd choose you over and over again, no questions asked! Indeed!
We both know what it's like to finally be free, to finally be able to smile genuinely, 
we both finally know what it's like to truly be.. Happy
No more lonely nights, crying for hours, not being able to breathe
I wake up with a smile on my face now, 
with clearer eyes than my mornings before
Because I finally opened my heart up to you, nothing less, nothing more
and I'm pretty sure you feel the same way I do,

I mean what I say, and I say what I mean, which means I meant it when I said there's no one else out there for me, but you
