Bedeviled

Bedeviled

Once upon a midnight keep,
Satan rested fast asleep.
Death retired the hourglass sand,
Immortality grasped within mortal hand.

Humanity longed for blissful peace,
But the disquieted heart will not cease.
Man with his greed for infinite glory,
Craved the bloodstains on palm smeared gory.

Superior thinking the mighty fall,
Tranquility unfelt within hearts of all.
Stardust dims, wishes piss poor out of luck,
The waxen orb fading, moonstruck.

Merciful angels won't shed tears,
For humanity ebbs and disappears.
From out of the darkness a violent scream,
Startled Satan out of a sabbatical dream.

Bidding man come take the fall
Savored seeing humanity crawl
So wicked to the very bone,
He so proud by mortals dethrone.
