Before

A wise man once said
That the heart sings a song
We've been lucky enough
To all sing along

Through hard times and good
We sang to your tune
Through good times and bad
Through happy and sad

Your song never dies
And neither does love
Though sometimes we all need
A push and a shove

Your light shines on through
Stronger than before
We loved you back then
And now even more

You lit up our world
It will never go out
We basque in your glory
To the heavens we shout

Thanks for our time
Our memory full
Lets now make some more
So lifes never dull

Our time here is precious
So lets not waste
Go show them you care
Forget about haste.

Hi DAVE!!........a powerfully noble attempt at tragic poetry!!...... you DID list this as tragedy correct?....... what stands out the most for me.... is the positive phrasing and well considered intent ~

~ "Your light shines on through
              Stronger than before
              We loved you back then
              And now even more..."

Someone has passed away (I'm guessing)....... but it's not made so clear unless you consider this one stanza!!...... At which point the write becomes more profound!!....... you have skills my poetic friend......I look forward to more from you!!................... Well done!!.....LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo ?✴❤
