Poem -

Before

I raced between the bright stars
i knew not their name
I had no reason to fear
I was unknown
unseen by the great eye
I was free of destiny
Far from the harness of life
I did not seek this
I ran from it
Knowing it was pain and shadow
Knowing the rears I would cry
I felt it in the ether
The songs of the stars called me
Their love was real
My fate was lost in Oblivion
Yet my sacrifice was counted
Towards a debt that was not mine

This is stunning Violet...I especially like the last lines
"Yet my sacrifice was counted
Towards a debt that wasn't mine"...there are so many bad things that humans do...most of us are horrified but ultimately we will all pay the price...great write ?

Being Me

Wow!  This is beautiful writing!

"I raced between the bright stars
I knew not their name"   ...
these lines pulled me hungrily in.

And then the last glorious lines...

"My fate was lost in oblivion
Yet my sacrifice was counted
Towards a debt that was not mine."

???  l love this poem. Pinned!  x
