Beggar reads the Jesus Prayer

Please I need your help
I am lost in the streets
It is dark and cold
Hunger is my name
Please I need your help
My clothes are torn
And my heart is weary
Nothing seems the same
I, who wander down the street
The beggar rocking on the corner
As you pass by me
Looking at my emaciated frame
Please I need your help
I am alone in the city
Calling out to Jesus
Calling out to Jesus
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner

WOW!!.........this is an amazing prayer........as well as insightful and giving poetry...........I know this scenario SO WELL!!.........been living and working in Major Cities most of my life..........and it is astonishing how quickly you become acclimated to just "not seeing" the beggar on the corner..........and I like to think of myself as a God-fearing person..........but after reaching for money........their is ballet that follows the giving..........making you late for work etc.........so you learn to turn a blind eye.........a selfish, self-serving, blind eye...........now that I am dealing with personal issues that have removed me from the "everyday" rat-race..........I have re-thought my entire approach to living, career, etc............this could go on forever........see what you've done with this write (lol!)............Loved it !!..............T xo
