Behind A Mask

Behind A Mask

I'm just like a clown,
always faking a smile.
Not allowed to look down,
not for even a while.
But i'm always happy if i'm asked.
I hide it all behind a mask.

I cannot shed a tear,
or display a frown.
I feel like I could cry so much,
I could literally drown.
But i'm always happy if i'm asked.
I hide it all behind a mask.

I like to see a smile,
It feels good i've found.
Only partially relieves the pain,
as my head is still spinning around.
But i'm always happy if im asked,
I hide it all behind a mask.

I'm just like a clown,
always faking a smile.
Is it my turn to be happy now'
Even just for a while.
I'm always lying when im asked,
and i'm tired of hiding behind this mask.
