Beneath a Scarlet Moon

Beneath a Scarlet Moon

Twas not by happenstance
Thus twilight’s advance
Of stars a splendor
A neon moon did render

A kiss sensuous procured
Vile twas deceit endured
Sanguine a dagger glean
Lambent by Goddess Selene

O’ how treachery stings
Borne on idle wings
Dusk elicit vacant eye
Mercy obtains no reply

Hushed a writhed heart
Ascend a hasty depart
Adrift a starry tribune
Beneath a scarlet moon
