Best Friends Forever....Not

Smiles and laughter
Ages of stories
Heartfelt dialog
Tears of joy
Boyfriends and breakups
Comfort and love
Late nights and sleep overs
Even in our twenties
You and me forever
Best friends united
Sisters at heart
At least I thought
Conversation grows weak
Phone calls halt
Text diminish
You’re nowhere near
Arguments begin
Words are said
Emotions suppressed
Inner torture
Broken feelings
Sadness and Sorrow
Words cut deep
Leaving me hollow
15 years down the drain
What a shame
What hurts the most is not the fight
It is words you say to another……….
Best Friend!

hey, Tanzie, welcome to the site....a fascinating write you post here, superbly formatted documenting in detail the sad ending of a friendship, from smiles and laughter to betrayal....with so much time invested, it is very sad tale indeed....a good poem should tell a plausible story and this one does, you wrote this well, a very cool subject matter you chose, good read, cheers poet Â
Thank you Christopher Correia. It was a very hard thing to go through. I think that is why the poem felt real.
