Best To Humour

Best To Humour

I met a nuttah who couldn't tell Stork from butter,
best to humour, oh that I could find words to utter;
he said: 'Do you speak Russian?' I said that 'nyet,'
keep calm, it's strange the type of people you meet.

I met a Latvian who taught me some words in Russian,
beautiful, I love you and all the numerals of one to ten,
a time in my life but I probably won't see him again,
stocky chap, could lift a weiight off my mind, a mention.

I met a Greek called Spiro who couldn't have cared less,
brusque, he asked me: 'Where did you learn to play chess?'
Another 'lifter,' built like a tank and always did the business,
you could imagine him standing on top of the Acropolis.

You wish you were back in your comfort zone, home alone,
more to comeĀ  - it won't be the last person you've ever known.
