Beware Of The Golden Mushroom

She runs freely and wild
Through the unfallowed forest
She sways to and fro
She bends ever gently in the soft summer breeze
Her beauty mesmerizes you
Her long blonde wisps are tendrils of temptation
You can taste her in your dreams
She softens your palette
She sates your hunger
You devour her completely
She is the one
Then, she smiles
As your senses slightly skip askew
You look to her, she has changed
No longer golden
But dark, and nefarious
You fight for each breath
As you witness her transformation
With your last, she returns to the forest
There, she takes her beautiful form once again
Your epitaph will read
“Beware of the Golden Mushroom”

Hi Jai,
Definitely mushroom soup, but with copious amounts of "cream", if you know what I mean. Thanks so much for your kind words. They mean a lot.

Larry the metaphor is very cool within this mystical and devious write. I have yet to get through my first golden mushroom and I hope to cope with it's poison for the rest of my life. Nice job luring us in with your tale. Peace.
Hi Devon,
Sometimes the antidotes are closer at hand than one expects. Believe me, I know, for I've survived three vicious attacks. Yet, the fourth mushroom turned out to be the delicacy of my existence. Thank you for your lovely comments.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
A brilliantly well written piece my Larry. Great metaphor and a great write. Well done my darling.
Love G xx
Hi G,
