Beyond the Brink

Beyond the Brink

Soulless in a land full of promise
Riding on the wings of a genius
Stumbling in the mind of a maniac
Losing track is where I’m at
Surpassing nothingness to be exact

Pointed fingers crooked with blame
Akin to sin, directed in vain
Needless gestures yet again
No wonder people feel insane

Reaching beyond the world of the cynical
Wandering aimlessly lost at the pinnacle
Empty and pointless
There’s no need to guess
Pretentious and worthless arrogant pests

This constructed creation
holds no place for me
beyond the brink
Surmise sanity

None the less
I have done my best
So I venture forth
due north I guess
Here I will lay my head to rest
For my soul is useless
In this fake place of promise
