Big, bold Buzzards 🦅
I stretch my neck curiously scrutinising the stormy sky
As I see seven black birds of prey sensationally soaring way up high
Seeking out those scattered thermals for an unenergetic fly
Giving their weary wings a well earned rest watching the wide, wonderful world go by..
And I cannot help wondering what on earth do they see?
Are they marking out their next plan of action, to hunt a safe haven from the storminess that will be
Or perhaps plotting a rainy, rendezvous on a forestry forage for their tea
As they look through those eyes of a Hawk, at the tiny matchbox meadows down below them, do they see me?
But Oh what I wouldn’t do to be one of those big, bold birds
Flying over land and sea watching wildlife within herds
That awesome view must be so magical, one which simply could not be put into words
Buzzards are so mysteriously majestic reaching right up to the highest heights, then scavenging like vultures, encircling betwixt bullying begirds…
