Big Jim

     As sure as every morning comes
Big Jim will test each day
He’s in a class with Kings and Bums 
Just wasting time away

He hasn’t much to show you
I don’t think he ever did
He really doesn’t know much
Kids call him, Big Jim

He’s waiting for his prime to sneak right up on him
Big Jim’s killing time, and times killing Big Jim

He wants to make new friends
He’ll always smile and wave
You’ll find that in the end
He gives you what you gave

He’s barely thirty two and always lonely
I know because I see it in his eyes
He never really travels far from home
He barely speaks a word and never cries
