Poem -

birth to sleep

as we swirl, dance, and twirl
constant toiling, burning within the lies of life.
we lust and thrust into fires
hardening our hearts to steel defiled
the rust of life feasting upon our souls.
soon to break to fade away
carried upon the winds of time
we all return to the dust

Mr. Devries, I really like this....its timing and rhythm make it work.......it gives what the title suggests.....and it is succinct (as it should be) in this context...........strong write.....well done.....tony  xxx
