Black Roses

Black Roses

Roses so beautiful turn dead at night
A bird with clipped wings disabled from flight

Scorned with a stare, silence a snare
A hollowed stomach and pernicious disrepair

Skins are exposed one soul becomes naked
One falls in love the other becomes hated

A burdened presence and the rope held tight
She holds the scissors, hands porcelain white

Flame to epidermis, my body a furnace
An answered prayer is a nightmare emergence

Cleaved to an ideal, blinded to faults
The heart beats but it’s availability holts

His first true love the angel sings
His spirit breaks the devil swings

Redemptions a path the winds get heavy
To disappear or stay and chivy

Feather, muscle, bone grow wings
The eagle soars on steady winds

Roses so beautiful turn black at night
Roses reborn at the dawning of light
