Blackballed

Blackballed

I have been
blackballed
more times
than I can
remember

I guess it is
because
I refuse
to get on my knees
for no man
I stand
I think
independently
and will not
be the
Yes Man

Being Blackballed
runs in the family
My dad was
blackballed
as an Engineer
because his
Christian Faith
would not
allow him
to follow
an unethical
mandate

I have always
respected him
for his convictions

For Myself
I would like
to think that
my ethics
drive my
choices
and I believe
it does
However I am
also a "Dick"
who is stubborn
and refuses
to follow the
sheep within
the herd.
I am certain
thatĀ being a dick
Ā is also
a prime element
that creates some
of the Anti Social
behavior that makes
me a candidate
for being blackballed

Ā I remember in grade school
I was one of the kids
that was sent to
stare at the walls
for misbehaving
However unlike
the other kids
I brought
a spray can
of paint
to entertain
myself

Some Cool
Graffiti
Still align
the walls
of
Luther Memorial
