Bleeding Out Love

Bleeding Out Love

”I Loved You,” he says, cleaning his blade
Scarlet stains etched from my veins form intricate lines,
splashed on the cuffs of his crisp white shirt.Β
My words seem slurred as in vain,
I try to pitch my need to live.

But he looks at me with unforgiving eyes.
I feel my heart capsize into forgotten pools,
where only those fooled find themselves adrift.Β

Is this to be it?

I beg him to forgive!
For what, I don’t even understand.
How did we get to this?
Where my blood stains his hands,
and my life hangs on a single thread.
I might as well already be dead.Β

His eyes grill into my own.
I close them tight and try to think of home.
Lightheaded I sink into my demise,
fading fast, this very moment I embrace to be my lastΒ

I hear his feet scrape beside my head

β€œIt’s okay, my love.
All will be right once you’re dead,
remember, you made your bed.”

I feel the cold sharpness of his blade sliding down my spine,Β Β
cutting through me like a scythe cuts through vine.Β

β€œSublime” he whispers,
tracing his fingers along the trail he carved into my back.
Pearls of ruby red teeter on the edge of his flesh,
as he paints his lips blood red.
I’m passing out,
while the fear of death melts away,
and I look forward to being freed from loves insane need,
to purge and feed

Body numb,
mind and soul succumb,
welcoming the abyss...

He kneels beside me,
with those blood-red lips,
and gently gifts me one last kiss

Very mysterious. Like something out of a horror/drama film.Β
'I feel the cold sharpness of his blade running down my spine,
cutting through me like a scythe cuts through vine.'
It's brutal and somehow its more dramatic, giving it meaning. The last part where he kneels beside you and gives you one last kiss makes it even more mysterious. Dark, beautiful story. 5 stars, Gwendoline.

Thank you, Michael, I do love a good thriller. I guess sometimes my darker side comes out. I am not too sure how well it is taken. But I love horror and anything with a dark chill. I am so pleased you enjoyed this. Thanks so much for reading and giving me your time, by leaving a commentΒ

SO...." bleeding awful ! " LIKE, ROMEO, WITH A KNIFE IN HIS BACK ? Have you seen the film. Roy Schneider, is in it. Again !!!
Love teaches. Love heals. Love gives. LOVE HURTS ?
See, in Verona, the balcony....or, the symphony. Do you throw yourself, OFF, or not ? Considering, tales of " famous history " ? The " FANFARE, to the common man " and his loss, or gain, depending on circumstance, leaves you, asking " BIG " questions. Does, it, not ? That ?

Hello Richard, no I haven’t seen the film. But thank you for your comment on my piece. It’s just a scene I made up. Practicing a darker write. I appreciate your thoughts and kind attention :)
