blink

blink

Squinting as we enter the world,
we’ve only basic needs in mind,
with regard to what lies ahead…
we may as well be blind.

When starting out as youth,
just what do we think?
There’s many a day to come…
we’ll have plenty of time to blink.

Reaching for the magic age,
youngsters will the time to pass,
wishing away the years,
reaching adulthood at long last!

Next comes a time of discovery,
responsibility without curfew.
Days melt away without much notice;
if only we had a clue…

We continue to grow older,
years piling up far too fast--
creating families of our own
with countless moments in our past.

Empty nest sneaks up steadily,
we blink to be sure it’s real.
Where did the years go?
Time sure knows how to steal.

Catapulting into the golden stage
we yearn for more time to blink.
How can we tell young ones…
years evaporate more quickly than they think!

Life nears its end…
our last breath on the brink -
hoping for loved ones at our side
as we prepare for the final blink.

Thank you, appreciate it!  It goes too quickly...  I remember when 30 sounded old...it's all relative.

Amen!  Nothing has bothered me yet but mortality looms in closer view. :)

A motto I read in the year book when I was in high school, awhile back...

:)

Said Stop The World I Want To Get Off!

I remember I got detention because I was laughing and couldn't stop and then...

I got another two days detention...

It was a fun week!

Hugs...
