Bloodred

Bloodred

Pity slips through fingers like sands,
In oceans of soul greed holds hands.
Somber silence of dawn bloodred,
Winds lament song of the dead.
War watches with beady eyes,
Hope swallows lumps she cries.
Love sleeps in the distance,
As if it would make a difference.
Starvation's gleeful laugh,
Vultures feast on his behalf.
Revelations draw near,
Angel of mercy tis here.
Turning a haloed head,
She won’t mourn valiant soldiers dead.
She bestows gossamer wings,
To children caught in middle of things.
This evil rules hearts of man,
Eagerly clenched in death’s hand.

Hello P.D....

I am embarrassed and ashamed about the so called well kept secrets that our Country and it's brutality shares with other Countries around the world...

When people ask me where I'm from...

I tell them but I also explain it's the place I was born...

I find myself having to defend my character...

Guilt by association...

As if the ones in control tell me things...

All I can honestly say is...

It's not my fault...

There's no words that I can say how much pain our Country has caused to it's own people and around the world...

And to it's own self...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Hi poetess beautifully delivered. Though a sad one. Enjoyed the read most especially the rhyme and how the words flowed.

Lots of love...Rose

VERY POWERFUL!!..... you've captured something special here PoetessDarkly!!......the children mixed up in the midst of bloody slaughter..... brought on by some greedy individuals sitting around in palaces and clinging to the idea that their "Collateral Dame" is somehow justifiable..... whole thing makes me sick....... but you've shed some well deserved poetic light on it......." The angel of mercy..... bestows supple gossamer wings, To the children caught in the middle of things!"...... excellent piece my friend........ALL STARS........LOVE and ROCKETS!!.......T xo

Dear PoetessDarkly,

Step aside Emily Dickinson.  PoetessDarkly now blesses us with her odes of the New Age.  She so vividly illustrates this "world gone mad" that we live in, where evil trumps love.  But the Angel of Mercy has arrived.  Her tears have been shed in Heaven for the brave souls who lose their battles of propriety.  But her attention now doth focus on the innocent youth.  For evil now is rampant in men's souls.  She will rescue the kindred "kinders" from their fate.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

xox Larry
