Bobby & his jackdaw

Bobby & his jackdaw

The was a man who lived alone
He bought a bird to call his own
He treasured it with all his love
He named it as his heavenly dove

Oh jackdaw please stay with me
I do not like it on my own
Oh jackdaw please don’t you ever flee
Its nice to have some company

But one fine day Bobs neighbour went
To collect the money for his rent
A dog he owned his name was Buckaw
It got a hold of his jackdaw

But years went by without a word
About Bobs heavenly missing dove
Why did Bobby get a bird
He is left alone without no love

Oh jackdaw please return
I can’t abide it on my own
Oh jackdaw come away from yonder burn
I am left alone to sit & yearn

Oh jackdaw until you return
I’ll put a notice in my shop
Oh jackdaw fly away from yonder burn
The dog got chased with my
big mop
