Poem -

Braveheart

Braveheart

Chaste t’was comely lass
Humble scrutiny in looking glass
Scars embellish war-torn face
Fidelity a pious grace

Swords clash a tempest din
Ensanguine entice a reaper’s grin
Brave Saint Joan of arc
Spear of destiny scathe a mark

On wings of madness ordain
Allies endorse a heretic campaign.
Christened by a cleansing fire
Wicked a treasonous conspire

Epic phrase of Orleans maid
Ablaze on a pyre glade
Valiant martyr exclaims

β€œHold the cross high
So I may see
Through the flames”

Hi Lisa...I had to pin this one because you did an excellent job setting the scene of the life and demise of Joan of Arc.Β  I have always loved the stories about her and I am amazed at her bravery and faith throughout her torture and burning at the stake....So inspiring.Β  Great work!Β  xo ;)
