"Breaking the Hold"

on this very page,
trying to reach out,
to help put in check,
the war in an active addict,
that is continually being waged.

Put your fists down,
and hug me,
for we are the same.
We truly only have,
ourselves to blame,
for the state we are in.
Just repent for your sins,
give them to the Lord,
and He will set you on the path,
to The Sea of Golden Shores.

You have nothing to prove,
to me or anyone, save God.
Keep the past in the past,
it is dead.
Pray to God,
to make everything,
right in your head.

Please put alcohol and drugs down,
and the battle is won.
Rest your head,
from the running you've done,
because the time,
for being numb,
has long since passed.
Come on this journey with me,
and with God's Help,
we will break the cursed spell,
that the Devil thought would last."
