Brexit

Brexit

So the UK voters chose to quit the EU...
Sparking wildly polarised points of view
And David Cameron announcing his resignation
Leaving the UK to what destination?

The prospect of Boris Johnson being in charge
(though rather him than Nigel Farage)
I walked through London to Westminster
Where young people were calling out

"Jeremy for Prime Minister"
Whilst his shadow cabinet quit one by one:
A vote of No Confidence in Corbyn
And the stock markets in turmoil

As the electorate voted to leave
A scenario business leaders could scarcely believe.
Social media abuzz with various points of view
Should we or shouldn’t we quit the EU?

Walking, I passed three people arguing; shouting
Each in their own mind I think were doubting.
I turned down Little Sanctuary and past my feet
One of yesterday’s front pages was blowing down the street.
