Broke Again

It's that time of the month again
when they're coming through my door
assorted types of envelopes
the brown ones are galore
They come through most regularly
it's the time of the month I dread
I'll have to check my online bank
I bet it's in the red
Tv license, telephone bill
Electricity and water
The gas bill and that payday loan
I took out for my daughter
I love to spend without a thought
I like to treat myself
Im waiting on a lottery win
So I may gain great wealth
I go to town, fat purse in hand
and spend, spend till it's empty
I never spend like I am poor
I spend like I have plenty
A new dress here
some makeup there
Who cares if I am broke
But when I get the flipping bill
It makes me near dam choke
I'll have to work some extra shifts
or else I'll have to borrow
My car tax is due again
and the rent comes out tomorrow
So tonight's another sleepless one
in which I'll toss and turn
Thinking of money I don't have
and lessons I should learn
