Broken Skulls

Broken Skulls

I looked outward from the peeling motel window,
the owner walked around with creased khakis
there were only about 4 cars parked outside.
The stars were clawing at the flesh of night, the streets were barely flooded with the brown thick water that usually overflowed from the sidewalks.
I shut the curtains till no light was able to peak through, I grabbed the foot of the woman I had just stabbed to death, pulled her onto the carpet and ran my fingers down her bloody silk skin.
I sat next to her lifeless corpse and smiled,
her face was pale,
her nose was small and you could see a little bit of blood running down from her nostrils, her body laid in the form of an angel, bare and soft.
I heard the wailing sounds of police sirens as they raced by,
they didn't have a single clue
nobody did and they never would.
I forced her eyelids open and looked into the abyss of death which she wore perfectly.
I wrapped her in a bed sheet and carried her out into the car which was just outside my door,
I shoved her into the trunk and shut it quickly.
I went back into the room and cleaned everything very thoroughly, I took with me anything blood stained.
I then left $5 as a tip to those miserable rats that came in to clean the cum stained beds.
I got into the car and sat there for a little while letting the heat circulate throughout the whole car, I then played a Rolling Stones album and off I was into that sinister night of chopped up hopes and bludgeoned lights.
I got on the highway and sped,
once I hit Long Beach I looked for the boat that my parents had left me after their unfortunate death.
I finally found it in an isolated section of the port, I threw the woman over my shoulders and tossed her onto the boat then ran back to the car and shut the trunk.
I got on the boat and set sail, I must've sailed for hours but when I finally got far enough away I covered her in warm fish guts, tied a medium sized boulder to her foot and then tossed her off the boat.
I looked around at the empty sea,
the reflections of silence were so thick you could hear death tapping his finger on the skull of the earth.
I sailed back to the port, got into my car and drove off,
hundreds of people raced through the streets trying their very best to not think about death, but not me,
I showered in the maroon glow of euphoria it left behind,
I danced with the wounded clouds and bit the lips of death as it kissed me tenderly.
