Broken Steeple

Broken Steeple

The building stands
With a broken steeple
The church had left
Like all the people

A bottle of beer
Rolling inside,
Nor shame, nor pain
Can run and hide

The bible on the floor
Muddy, and dusty
Nothing more
Than wasted money

I miss the look
On people's faces
When I walk in
After visitting other places

It may be broken
But it can be fixed,
If we cleaned it up
The mood will shift

The town will rejoice
When the sun rises up
With whistles and noise,
Praising God's love
