Brother In Calmes
Wistfully, I call thee my Brother In Calmes,
We drift āmong the world, we hold in our palms
Realities not fraught with practicalities, noĀ
Principalities do forgo our claim,
To our home made tame,
By me
And my Brother In Calmes.
In the corner does our eternal night sister sleep,
And though her rest be very deep
Sheāll rise and join the ranks,
Led not by burly tanks,
Evil warships, cannons and trebuchets,
There will be no deathly price to pay;
Just spinning thoughts like yards of yarns
Within the barracksĀ
Of the Brothers In Calmes.
Laugh merrily!
For our funny feline friend,
He, too, be within our guard;
Yes, heās a valuable bard.
But though they be regiment,
Hard parts of the sediment,
They be not like you and I,
Weāre bound by a different tie;
We have companionship thatās not the same
To the jovial nature of others Iāve named.
We run by plains in different steps,
Leap large canyons in different jumps.
We look at the world,
With sight and thought;
The worldās wonders we have caught,
Itās amazing marvels weāve unfurled.
For we, though they also be,
Are the true Brothers In Calmes.
