Scream in Wonder
A poem about appreciation and an agape love for everything.
You can
Trudge along the banks and meadows
And see the flowers trampled or
Mope upon the riverfront
And find the fishes hounded.
When watched through watered eyes
Thereās ruin to the world.
But seen through absurd people
In it wonderous beauty lies.
Scream to the world though it may flinch
And at you, it may pinch,
But scream to the world
And you will find your home.
From wretched wrecks ripped asunder
And homelands plagued by treacherous thunder;
Let the lightning lick your back
And the waves beat at your back,
For no one can defend
Against those trials the world sends,
But donāt lie weak,
Donāt let yourself stay meek;
Embrace the absurd wonder
And settle within everything asunder.
Prance along the pavement and sing
About this merry little fling
We call life and adore
While others around seem so poor
To them give this sweet truth:
That love will always soothe
Any hardship that may arise,
No matter what brawn or brain or size.
Speak to them with care and compassion
And give them this reason for moral ration:
To seize their hearts,
To love the parts
Of nature that will amaze
And those spirits will be raised.
Dwell not on the future or the past
Let not anything that displeases last,
But float along the things Iāve told
And do not take in that dark, vile mold.
Love the fellow man that loves;
Release together pure white doves
And let them fly to all around,
Let them hear that amazing sound.
For this pleasure is to share
With the world, your friends
And any other lovely pair.
So, let yourself
Drift along the banks and meadows
And watch the cattle graze or
Swoon upon the waterfront
And find the dancing sun rays.
When watched through watered eyes
Thereās ruin to the world.
But seen through absurd people
In it wonderous beauty lies.
