Bumblies among the primula

A kind of jazz

I hear bumblies among the primula.ย
The ones around my willow treeย
Buzzing bass to counterpoint a bird song melody.ย
Sun on my back.ย
Perfect light on the circle of hyacinthย
around my resurrected cherry tree.ย

Just listening to the birds.ย

Total lockdown.ย

Feeling free.ย

Hi Angelย
I like gardening but know nothing about plants if I'm honest. I really don't know where the primula came from. Nobody in the family remembers planting any but they are spotted all over the lower part of the garden,, concentrated around my favourite two trees.ย
I wrote this cos I could hear the bees but I couldn't see any of them.ย

Being Me

This is lovely, Nigel. The bees are very busy out and about at the moment...which is great! I loveย  the way this poem takes the reader straight there...in the moment. I will admit, there is a part of me that is loving this lockdown. The only thing I miss is not being able to go and visit my family that does not live with me. But there's face time...although that cannot replace a hug. keep safe and stay well x

Thanks Being Me,ย
I spotted a couple of them but my really cheap phone is not up to a quick capture.ย
We don't know where the primula came from but we do like them.ย

Being Me

It's always such a lovely surprise when a beautiful plant appears from seemingly nowhere. A blessing. Maybe the birds brought them in.. or one in... and they established themselves from there? Or perhaps there were some roots in some soil that was added?ย

I think that primula have spread from the next doors garden which is now quite overgrown.ย

Oh Lisa, they really did sound like the bass accompanying a jazz band. But, that said, I was very, very stoned.ย
I don't live in Manchester which in a way is a pity. There is a nutter who calls himself the outlaw driving around Manchester giving away toilet rolls and hand sanitisers and King size cigarette papers and pot.ย
Everyone helps in their own way.ย
We are poets..ย
Thanks againย
