Bush Turkey

Bush Turkey

I have literally lost
I've lost my sight
I've lost my heart
It's almost
cost my life

I've had some growth
In what matters most
But boy 've I
been pruned right back
even to the wife

And who to blame
but myself
that boast
that forge ahead
so cocky

It's due to envy
I might say
of those who'd had
a better way
that's caused the strife

I just wanted it all
To catch up
get around the 8 ball
move the mountain
that is all

But there was no villiage
to raise this child
Within I lack
the discipline
to play along the knife
