The butterfly with the broken wings that still seemed to fly
~~Pretty little butterfly you glimmered in the sun
Your golden colors a gift from God, your love second to none.
Your smile lit up a room, and your laughed warmed the hearts of many,
Such a sad day when your life was cut short three years shy of twenty.
Who would have known that God needed his butterfly to return back home,
But it was time for you to claim your rightful place flying next to his throne.
Cystic fibrosis claimed your life way too soon.
Yet you still found a way in your short lifetime to emerge from your cocoon.
My dear precious Kaiya your presence is missed here on earth.
No more broken wings in heaven butterfly, spread them wide for your rebirth.
Fly in Heaven Kaiya J. Castillo ( 1994-2011)

Thank you so much!
Samantha such a heartfelt and emotional poem; must have taken a lot to write this and your heart shines through. Mine has been deeply touched; a very big 5*s and nomination for a brave and wonderful write:)
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's hard to deal with , but I use my words to honor her short life. It's healing in itself.
