Call it What You Want

If you know me as well as she does.
You should catch on quite fast.
She was there from the start.
This ballad for her, I hope will last.
It's the least I could do.
She has stuck through it all.
Taught me how to be a man,
And to just let the tears fall.
Told me never to hold in emotions.
That was her favorite line.
Said I would either rise or fall;
Burn or shine.
I loved her beyond my limits.
Making her my crutch, my cane.
It's still hard to admit it.
I only learned from the pain.
It was an abusive relationship.
Rare to even see me smile.
Mentally, I grew after every attack.
I loved to learn, so I stayed for awhile.
We both noticed the plateau.
The time was right, for us to go.
I cried not one single tear.
Losing her, use to be my fear.
Eventually she'll try and come back
And I might let her in once or twice.
But she has nothing for me anymore.
Im done being nice.
So I removed her personification.
Now remembering it as a lesson.
This is now longer a ballad.
It's the definition of depression.

Hi Shate I relate to this write being in an abusive relationship..
And yet she taught him / you how to be a man I am all for a man
showing his emotions to cry i would respect him more, To live
in an abusive relationship is depressing even after
you part because however much you tried you could not make it work
Great honest write Debs
