Call me Nan!

You can call me grannie, nonna, or nannie
It’s the same by any name you’ll find.
I am your vassal, your slave,it’s  uncanny
that I enjoy this role  to which I’ve been assigned

There’s no one else that I would let smear chocolate in my hair,
and read their favourite stories on repeat.
I make them midnight feasts that they devour without a care
and dress them up as  ghosts and ghouls  for trick or treat!

Anything that you confide I’ll take it to my grave
I’ll always have a store of good advice.
I’m such an easy pushover each time you misbehave
you have my full support at any price

I’ll lead you into mischief  that you never knew was there
And try to make your world a softer place
I’ll show you how much fun it is if  you just  learn to share
I’ll always keep a smile upon your face

For me it’s just an honour that you kids call me your Nan
And whilst I may not be the most   traditional
We laugh, have fun and hug a lot.as often as  we can
My love, you’ll know, is always unconditional!
