Poem -

cancer

cancer

Laying here
I wait
for the medicine to set in
wondering if I will
awake
I said
my peace
my hopes
my regrets
to love
ones
at least to the ones
who bothered
to reach out to me
Lonliness
is at its peak
when you have no control
of tomorrow
The sunshine
now burns my eyes
as I have awoken
I still await though
for cancer
to return
as an unwanted mistress
