Candelabra

Candelabra

A glow in the dark

called to me,

A voice aflame with both

The passion of the night

and the spirit of the lost,

said to me,

"May I have this dance?"

So

    I

      Reached out to touch her,

And just as she'd come,

The flame was gone.

Like a dream I could

    See

       Feel

          Smell, her.

She was alive

   and then she was

     ............gone.

I turned to the doorway,

A light licked the contours

of my eyes,again.

She was alive once more,

And this time,

I reached out,

And I touched her,

             felt her,

            smelt her.

Then we danced

Underneath the candelabra,

And in that moment,

   she was mine.

The curtains danced with us.

Glowing,hot,ablaze.

Rocking back and forth with the flames,

And the tables joined in,

and the chairs and all the furniture refused

To be left out of the ball.

And we basked

in the flames,

Then again,she was gone.

Outside,a siren called!
