Courrier Doves

Courrier Doves

The ugly duckling took flight

and found her wings

were not so short.

The phoenix peered out of the ashes

and the sky was set

ablaze.

I found a heart in a corner.

She called a name of mine,

That no one else knew,

So I took her outstretched hand,

She took mine,

and we danced,

in and out of time.

The swan sprang new feathers.

A new coat.

She did away with the old.

The heart I found,

Began to beat.

A rhythm that rose,

into a simple symphony,

a melody that was not alien to me,

For it was the very melody ,

of my own soul.

The shadows of the storm clouds,

crawled upon us,

and the swan let hailstones

roll of her back

like beads of water.

Your spirit found strength,

My life found meaning,

You fought the odds with

your every breath

and lately my smiles

have been beaming.

If a heart ever loved

it was mine.

If a soul was ever loved,

It was yours.

Then the phoenix flew

too close to the blades of grass

and my harvest caught fire,

my crops shrieveled

my cattle sizzled

and the earthworms packed up and left

But the butterflies stayed.

My  days

     are now

   ........barren.......

Naette,soul of my soul

my tears are saturated

with sand.

Venus,star of my nights

my sky is closing in on me.

My love for you

is branded in the stars,

can't you see?

Imprinted in the sands of time

for all eternity.

Send me a dove

my ears long for a

relayed word

from your lips.

The ugly duckling found the

swan in herself

when she first took flight

and realised her wings

were not so short.

I was there,I saw it all!

The swan sprang new feathers,

a new coat,

then she burst into ashes

and from the ashes came

        this phoenix.

You set my sky ablaze.

Your light cleared the haze.

But then you flew too close,

You kissed the grains of the earth

and all my biennial crops

..................ashes to ashes.

Don't leave me alone,

tattered and broken,Venus.

The soil at the bottom

of my heart is still fertile,

no matter how scorched.

I'm still here,here;

watching the stars,mi angelo.
