Casting Pearls Before Swine

Casting Pearls Before Swine

They like dull swine, on hearing the sweet songs
Of angels, misconstrue every key note.
And then, in their hordes they, place the burden
Upon all true lyricists to revoke
Finer feelings and thoughts. For they want them
To evoke crude sentiments that they know.
They are content in their sties, and condemn
Anything that transcends, fleeting shadows
On their walls. From the cradle to the grave,
Alas, they are conditioned to act that way.
