Castles made of sand
Optimism flows easy within the young
Everything can be achieved
What's said will be done .
They were good ideas at the time
But there was too much , We didn't think through .
Transparency hidden from view .
All built , Flag planted in the tower
Only to be washed away at a later hour .
A building without foundation , Doomed to flounder .

Oh...the optimism of youth! Such a shame the optimism gets jaded...too many disappointments are to blame for that. And also, the further on down the road you get, the more hindsight you have. Personally I tend to have guarded optimism these days. I've been bitten too many times. I love the sandcastles analogy you used in this. A fabulous poem, Chris x
Good morning to Tina and thank you for your kind words and apologies I took so long to reply , This poem is based around the title of 1 of my favourite Jimi Hendrix songs and like it expresses , It is amazing how many of lives plans we do build on shaky foundations ! Hoping a dear friend is keeping well , Chris X
