Caught in the in-between

Silence in a disruptive state,
A mentality beyond reasoning. 
I often wonder if we don't hold on so tight;
we may just float away.

​​​​​​Yet here I am grasping from somewhere deep. 
You call to me, I am too caught up to hear you. 

Why can't the feeling of love be enough substance for happiness? 

Why do we constantly argue with ourselves, 
Over things we cannot control? 

The fight or flight risk is perhaps overwhelming.
But alas, there is no easy way through a tainted and battered mind.
