Chains of Self Doubt

Invisible chains restrain me,

From challenges ahead,

My comfort zone surrounds me,

An overcoat of heavy lead.

It hinders me from moving,

In the direction I need to go.

The weight of doubt it covers me,

Ensuring I move slow.

My head plays sneaky tricks on me,

I can do this YES I can!!

But then my mind it changes,

It doubts me and destroys my plan.

You’re better off where you are!

You’re comfortable here…

I listen to the words repeat,

And playing in my ear.

Well yesterday I won a fight,

That leaden coat removed,

I’ve had enough of being hindered

I have something to prove.

I stepped out of my comfort zone,

Restrictions cast aside,

I’m capable of anything,

With confidence on my side.

So don’t hold back from your dreams,

No matter what they are,

If I can do it, YOU CAN,

Go reach for the stars!
