Changes

Each morning I was used to getting up alone
Going into the world working and fighting for my own
My life to everyone else seemed not to be so hard
But no one knew I was always on guard

I had a whole town of so called friends
People followed me and I felt I set trends
I always fooled them to think I was happy
but they never knew The truth was I was holding back keeping my heart withdrew

But one night an event I will never forget
I went out not to drink but protect
I went to a lonely place I called home
And since then emerged a king with a golden throne

It was on this night I first touched your skin…
On this night I got a taste of your lips…
It was on this night I lost my guard
And like never before, to you I opened my heart

On that night my heart grew soft
I looked at you with new and open eyes
Since then I had an addiction that fit like a glove
An addiction pulling me in, an addiction called love

You came like a raging tornado
My heart and mind filled with you wherever I go
Putting behind me the life of fake freedom
I knew Without second thought devoting my life to you

Now more then a year from that night
I smile even bigger when holding you tight
Not missing the person I was at all
Knowing it only for you each day if all

You stepped into my heart…
You stepped into my life…
You made my life worth living
You left me changed…
