Cheer up

Everything’s fine, I should be okay
So cheer up already, they say 
That’s what I’m trying to do every day 
ever since last May 
But I still haven’t found a way 

You’ll be fine by September 
 or in 50 years
Stop making me remember 
a time before tears 

When I feel like throwing up 
I simply cough 
Because I’m so tough  
And I don’t feel like cleaning up 

I’m having trouble getting out of bed 
Cheer up and get more sleep instead 
We’re all tired, they said 
But it’s not fatigue, it’s dread 
Or do you also wish you were dead?
