Fairies of the Flesh

Bend it, twist it, crack it, break it
A woman’s limb is flesh counterfeit
Stretch the neck and bind the feet
From afar, they look almost like fairies

Sing for us!
White hides the age of their faces
Smile for us!
The darkness hiding any last traces

She ran from us
That golden lotus
With wobbly legs and wings clipped,
Someone’s bound to notice
