CHILD OF SENEGAL

CHILD OF SENEGAL

I am a child living in Senegal
No running water life is hardly a ball
The clothes on my back are battered and torn
The shoes on my feet are scruffy and worn

I live in a house constructed entirely of straw
People all around me are fighting a needless war
However my mother is expecting child number eight
This should be a happy occasion and reason to celebrate

Leaders of the world don't be upset at my plight
You have the power to put things right
